Get your Saturdays back.
Most small businesses lose a full working day every week — retyping numbers, chasing reports, the same WhatsApp question. That work goes to a machine.
A division of DIVEBOLT · Colombo, Sri Lanka
01 — The problem
The hours nobody bills for.
Nethmina Adeesa runs DIVEBOLT labs — accounting undergraduate, finance day job. Invoices, stock counts, payroll, month-end are not case studies. They are Tuesday.
That is why this division exists. In every small company, four hours vanish copying numbers between places. Nobody invoices those hours. Everybody pays for them.
Typing invoices
Thirty invoices a day, four minutes each, by hand. Two hours daily in a busy shop, and mistakes come when everyone is tired.
Building the report
Sunday night, exporting sales, pasting into a sheet, fixing the columns that shifted, then sending the same summary to the same three people.
WhatsApp questions
Price? Open today? Where are you? Do you deliver to Kandy? The same six questions, two hundred times a month, answered by whoever is free.
Attendance & payroll
A paper book, then a spreadsheet, then OT worked out on a calculator, then someone checking it twice because last month was wrong.
Ordinary arithmetic for a Sri Lankan business of five to thirty staff — not a claim about yours. Count your own for a week. That is what we delete.
02 — What we build
Four jobs we take away.
Runs on what you already have — a spreadsheet, WhatsApp, a browser. No moving your business onto new software.
Invoices, quotes & reports
Keep filling one sheet. Invoices, quotations and PDFs come out numbered and ready to send. Daily and weekly sales and stock reports send themselves.
Suits: shops, distributors, hardware and spare-part traders, service firms
- Typing each invoice by hand → pick the customer, invoice is made
- Invoice numbers going out of order → numbered automatically, never repeated
- Sunday night sales summary → in your inbox at 7am Monday
- "How much did we sell last month?" → one link, already totalled
WhatsApp order & enquiry desk
Orders stop living in one person's phone. Each becomes a row — name, item, quantity, time. Price, hours, location, delivery: answered instantly.
Suits: takeaways, bakeries, salons, tuition classes, online sellers
- Orders scrolled back for at closing → a clean list, in order, timestamped
- Replying to the same six questions → answered instantly, day or night
- Orders lost when staff change shift → nothing sits in a personal phone
- No idea which item sells most → counted automatically each week
Excel cleanup & live dashboards
You already keep the sheet — merged cells, four tabs, a total that died in March. We rebuild it, then one dashboard: totals, charts, low-stock alerts.
Suits: anyone whose real system is a spreadsheet — which is most people
- Six versions named final_2_new → one sheet, one truth, shared
- Totals worked out by hand → updating as the rows go in
- Finding out the stock is finished → a message when it drops below your level
- Numbers only you understand → a dashboard your staff can read
Attendance, payroll & data entry
Staff mark in and out on a phone or shared sheet. Hours, late marks, OT and no-pay follow your rules. Payroll lands on the first, and forms replace retyping.
Suits: restaurants, workshops, clinics, retail with shift staff
- Attendance book, then a spreadsheet → marked once, counted immediately
- OT on a calculator → worked out by your own rules
- Payroll checked twice, still wrong → same sums every month, no slips
- One person retyping paper forms → the form fills the sheet directly
03 — How it works
We watch first, then build.
Your business runs as normal through the whole build. Nothing switched off, nothing swapped on a Monday and hoped for.
Watch the job
An hour with the person who actually does it. Not a meeting — we watch the invoice get typed and note every exception.
Build it
We build on a copy, never your live data. Fixed price and finish date in writing up front, plus a link to try as it grows.
Run both ways
Both ways run side by side for a week. Totals must match exactly, or we fix ours. Nothing goes off until the week is clean.
Hand over
Staff training, a one-page sheet for when things look wrong, every file and login in your name. Then we get out of the way.
04 — Pricing
Fixed price. Published.
Prices in Sri Lankan rupees, quoted before we start, not after. Outgrow your tier and you hear the number before you pay.

05 — Honest limits
What we don't do.
Short list, and we would rather you read it now than find out later.
Accounting or tax advice
Building the sheet that gets your numbers ready, yes. Signing off accounts, filing returns, advising on VAT or SSCL, no — that is your accountant's job.
Anything touching bank credentials
We never ask for banking logins or card details, yours or a customer's, and we store none. If a job needs bank access, the answer is no.
Systems we can't hand over
If we cannot explain it to your staff in one session and leave it in your name, we do not build it. Sack us and everything keeps working.
Plainly: if a job is beyond us, we say so before taking your money. A short honest list beats a long one learned at your expense.
06 — Questions
Before you ask.
Will it break what we already use?
No. We work on a copy, never your live data, and for a week both ways run together so you compare the totals. Nothing switches off until the week is clean.
Do we need to buy new software?
Almost never. Most of it runs on the spreadsheet, WhatsApp and email you already pay for. Any paid tool, you hear the monthly cost first and pay the provider directly.
Who owns it afterwards?
You do. Sheets, scripts, accounts — your name, your logins. We keep no copy after handover. No licence, no lock-in, nothing stops working when you leave.
What if our process changes?
Rules — prices, OT rates, stock levels, reply text — sit in a settings sheet you edit yourself. Bigger changes: upkeep at Rs 4,000 a month, or pay for the one change and stop.
How do you start?
Tell us which job eats the most time. Twenty minutes talking, an hour watching it done. Then a fixed price, a date and what changes, in writing, before you pay.
Tell us the boring part.
